Donald (Don) C. Mosley, Jr., PhD
Executive Director
Dr. Mosley has extensive experience as a consultant/facilitator for organizations
in the public and private sectors, including the RSA Tower, Parsons Brinckerhoff,
San Diego Padres, City of Fairhope, FEMA, Johnstone Adams Law Firm, University Hospital,
Providence Hospital, Leadership Mississippi, and the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers.
He and his team seek to positively impact the university and regional communities.
Thomas E. Nelson, PhD
Director of Student Competitions
Dr. Nelson creates, supports, and teaches entrepreneurship at the University of South
³ÉÈË¿ì²¥. His focuses include design & entrepreneurship, nontraditional entrepreneurship,
and forgiving business models & processes. Proficient with traditional business plans,
the business model canvas, and the Simplexity Problem Solving Process, Dr. Nelson
consults with nascent entrepreneurs, small and mid-sized businesses, governments,
and non-profit organizations on ideation, business formation, and validation, business
planning, and creative problem-solving.
Rachel Backlin
Programs Specialist, Dean’s office
Ms. Rachel Backlin, Programs Specialist for the South ³ÉÈË¿ì²¥ Center for Business
Analytics, Real Estate, and Economic Development (CREED) and the Melton Center for
Entrepreneurship and Innovation (MCEI) received the Outstanding Staff Award. Before
joining the MCOB, Ms. Backlin worked in medical research and administration. She is
a native of the Gulf Coast.
Ashley Ritter
Entrepreneur Student Assistant
Ashley Ritter is a current student at the Mitchell College of Business where she is
majoring in management with a concentration in entrepreneurship. Ashley is a student
assistant who focuses on event coordination and digital marketing for the Melton Center
for Entrepreneurship and Innovation.
