Students and faculty from the University of South 成人快播 Department of Music performed their annual Holiday Concert Thursday evening at the USA Mitchell Center. The event was free and open to the public.

This year鈥檚 theme, Jaguar Jingle All the Way, was a play on the Christmas classic 鈥淛ingle Bells.鈥 The University Chorale sang John Leavitt鈥檚 arrangement entitled, 鈥淒ashing Through the Snow,鈥 the USA Wind Ensemble performed 鈥淛ingle Bells Fantasy鈥 and the USA Trombone Choir performed the Tommy Peterson arrangement of the song.

Diverse musical selections included 鈥淢y Favorite Things鈥 from the Sound of Music, performed by the Tuba Euphonium Ensemble; 鈥淐hristmas Klezmer Fantasy鈥 by the Clarinet Ensemble, 鈥淲e Three Kings鈥 by the Percussion Ensemble and 鈥淒anse Villageoise鈥 by the Lavender Brass Quintet.

For the first time, the concert featured a handbell choir. The handbells were donated to the University by the south Brookley United Methodist Church in Mobile and added a festive touch during the performance of the English Christmas Carol, 鈥淚 Saw Three Ships.鈥

As always, the concert culminated with Leroy Anderson鈥檚 鈥淎 Christmas Festival,鈥 a medley of Christmas favorites by the Wind Ensemble, Concert Choir, Opera Theatre, Chorale and Jaguar Marching Band. SouthPaw entered the arena on a giant sleigh pulled by a golf cart.

The Department of Music performed its first Holiday Concert in 2011.
